The Paraná River is home to one of the most aggressive freshwater fish on the planet: the Golden Dorado. Whether you are a fly-fishing purist or a bait-casting enthusiast, we take you to the hidden channels where the monsters hide.
Paraguay is a bucket-list destination for serious anglers. The massive river systems here are teeming with life. We aren’t talking about small panfish; we are talking about the Surubí (a catfish that can weigh 50kg+) and the Dorado (famous for its acrobatic jumps and steel-trap jaws).
But these rivers are vast and dangerous if you don’t know them. The currents are strong, and the fish move constantly. You need a captain who knows the river better than he knows his own home.
You don’t need to travel with bazookas of fishing rods. We provide a complete, hassle-free experience.
We arrange the transport from Asunción to the prime fishing hubs (like Ayolas, Paso de Patria, or Cerrito). We provide professional bass boats or spacious river cruisers, top-tier Shimano/Penn tackle, live bait, and—crucially—the cold beers and food to keep you going.
The prize trophy. Known for its brilliant gold scales and ferocious temper. Pound for pound, it is one of the hardest fighting fish in the world. Catching one is a badge of honor.
The king of the bottom. These spotted catfish grow to massive sizes. Hooking one feels like you are pulling up a sunken car. They are powerful, stubborn, and distinctively beautiful with their leopard-print skin.
Pound for pound, the Pacú (river pig) offers an incredible fight and is delicious to eat. We often stop on a sandy island to cook your fresh catch over an open fire for lunch.
Our captains are locals who have fished these waters since childhood. They know where the schools are moving based on the water level and temperature. They don’t just drive; they teach you how to hook the big ones.
The Paraná is a powerful commercial waterway. Our boats are equipped with life vests, radios, and reliable motors. We prioritize your safety so you can focus on the rod tip.
We supply the rods, reels, lures, and live bait. If you are a fly-fisherman, we can guide you to the shallow rapids, though we recommend bringing your specialized flies.

We believe that a great experience starts with clear communication. Traveling to a new country involves many details, and we want you to feel 100% confident before you book. Below, we have answered the most common questions travelers ask us regarding our safety standards, logistics, and service quality. If you don’t see your question here, we are just a message away.
Yes, Paraguay requires a fishing license. We handle the paperwork for you. We just need your passport details in advance to issue the permit so you are 100% legal on the water.
Paraguay has strict conservation laws to protect the species. We generally practice Catch & Release, especially for large Dorado and Surubí. However, you are usually allowed to keep smaller species (like Boga or Pacú) for dinner. We respect the "Veda" (Fishing Ban Season) which typically runs from November to mid-December.
No. We provide high-quality rods and reels suitable for the heavy fish we target. However, if you have a lucky lure or a custom fly rod you love, feel free to bring it!
Yes. A day on the river isn't complete without a cooler. We provide water, soft drinks, and beer, along with a lunch (either a packed lunch or a riverbank BBQ depending on the package).
The best fishing is not in Asunción (where the water is busy with barges). We drive south to Ayolas or Cerrito, which is about 3.5 to 4.5 hours. For this reason, we often recommend an overnight stay in a fishing lodge.
Near the river, mosquitoes are common, especially at dawn and dusk. We recommend long sleeves and strong repellent. The boats move fast, so while fishing, the breeze usually keeps them away.
Absolutely. You don't need to be a pro. The guides will bait your hook, cast for you if needed, and help you land the fish. It’s a thrill for first-timers.
Fishing is fishing, not catching! However, our guides have a very high success rate. Even on a "slow" day, the experience of being on the river and seeing the wildlife (monkeys, birds, caimans) is spectacular.
