About This Site

This page is about Things to do in Paraguay: what the site is, who publishes it, how the guides are written, and — just as important — what we do not do.
About this site
Things to do in Paraguay is an independent travel information site. We publish destination guides, self-guided routes, practical advice for arriving and getting around, and background for people considering a longer stay in Paraguay. Everything on the site is free to read.
We are not a travel agency, tour operator or relocation service. We do not sell, quote, book, reserve or arrange tours, packages, tickets, transport, accommodation or any other service, and we do not take payments, deposits or commissions. We do not pass enquiries to tourism providers, and no provider pays to be mentioned. To hire a service, contact the provider directly and check that they hold the registrations and permits that apply to them — in Paraguay, tourism providers are overseen by the national tourism authority, SENATUR.
The same notice in Spanish:
Este sitio publica información turística sobre Paraguay. No somos una agencia de viajes y no vendemos, cotizamos ni gestionamos paquetes, pasajes, reservas o pagos. Para contratar servicios, contactá directamente al prestador y verificá los requisitos y habilitaciones que correspondan.
Who publishes it
The site is published and edited by Anton Marklund. Some earlier pages were written with local input from Yanina Alvarez, a Paraguayan photographer and designer. The editorial contact address is hello@thingstodoinparaguay.com, or use the contact form.
In October 2026 the site was reorganised as an independent guide. Older pages were rewritten at their existing addresses, so links and bookmarks keep working.
How the guides are written
- Useful first. Each guide tries to answer what a traveller actually needs: how to get there, how long it takes, what to look out for, and what to check before going.
- Sources over opinions. Where a fact matters — entry rules, residency, health — we link the official source, such as the Dirección General de Migraciones, and tell you to confirm it there.
- No invented numbers. We do not publish prices, timetables or opening hours we cannot stand behind. Where we give an estimate, we say so. Prices and rules in Paraguay change often, so always confirm with the provider before you travel.
- Dated. Guides show when they were last updated.
- Not professional advice. Pages about residency, healthcare, schools, property or law are general information, not legal, medical or financial advice.
- No paid placements. There is no sponsored content and there are no affiliate links. If that ever changes, it will be clearly labelled on the page concerned.
Images
Some images on the site are AI-generated illustrations; they are labelled as such where they appear as a page's main image and are not photos of the real place. Other photos come from the site's earlier archive.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact form — say which page and, if you can, a source for the correct information. We read every report and update the guide when it checks out.
For how we handle the personal information you send us, see the privacy notice. To start planning, read the suggested independent itinerary, browse the destinations, or read the FAQ.
