Privacy Notice

This privacy notice explains what personal information Things to do in Paraguay handles, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It was last updated on 4 October 2026.

Who is responsible

The site is published by Anton Marklund (about this site). For anything about your personal information, write to hello@thingstodoinparaguay.com or use the contact form.

What we collect and why

Contact form. When you send a message we receive the email address you give us, your name if you choose to give it, the topic you choose, the page you mention and your message. We use this only to read and reply to your message and, if it is a correction, to fix the guide. We do not use it for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share it with tourism providers or anyone else, except the technical providers listed below that are needed to run the site.

To limit spam, the form also records a one-way, salted hash of your IP address with the message. The hash is used to cap how many messages can be sent from one connection in an hour; we do not store the IP address itself.

Server logs. Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard technical logs of requests (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) to operate and secure the service. We do not use them to profile visitors.

No newsletter, no bookings. The site no longer runs a newsletter or any booking, quote or enquiry system.

Who processes the data

  • Hosting: the site and its database run on Hostinger's web hosting.
  • Email: contact-form messages are stored in the site's database and a copy is emailed to our editorial inbox, so our email provider also holds that copy.

The section below shows the analytics and email settings the site is running with right now.

How long we keep it

Messages are deleted from the site's database automatically once they reach the retention period shown in the section below, whether or not we have answered them. You can ask us to delete your message sooner at any time. The copy in our editorial mailbox is deleted when we no longer need it to follow up on your message.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to the address above. Please do not send passport numbers, payment details or health information through the form — we do not need them.

For general background on data protection, see Wikipedia's overview of information privacy.
